Arizona Rattlers News Release
Phoenix, AZ - The Arena Football League and the Arizona Rattlers released the 2005 Regular Season schedule today. New Head Coach Todd Shell and the Rattlers will begin their 14th season of Arena Football on January 28 with a road trip to Grand Rapids to face-off with Chris Jackson and the new look Rampage. Arizona will open their home schedule on Super Bowl Sunday in a meeting with Jay Gruden's Orlando Predators. The January 28th start date marks the earliest opening day in AFL history.
The 16 game schedule features several intriguing match-ups for Rattler fans. Arizona will travel to Atlanta, Georgia on February 13 for a meeting with the Georgia Force and their new Head Coach Doug Plank. The Rattlers will also travel to New York to meet up with Coach Shell's former team, the Dragons, on February 27th in an NBC battle. The re-match of ArenaBowl XVIII will come on May 14th, when the SaberCats will travel to America West Arena.
Arizona will appear on NBC three times, all of which come on the road. They will face off with the Dragons, the Tampa Storm, and the Las Vegas Gladiators on the Peacock Network. A local television schedule, as well as starting times for the first three home games will be announced at a later date.
