
Wranglers Shutout Steelheads 3-0

Boise, ID - The Las Vegas Wranglers (20-2-3, 43 points) defeated the Idaho Steelheads (10-9-7, 27 points) 3-0 at the Qwest Arena on Wednesday night. Goalie Daniel Manzato improved to 11-0-0 on the season, stopping 22 Idaho shots for the victory and his second shutout of the season. Center Tyler Mosienko scored a goal and added an assist as Las Vegas moved to 16-0-3 in the last 19 games. Forwards Adam Cracknell and Peter Ferraro also scored, as the team tied the Las Vegas record for the longest unbeaten in regulation streak in team history. Las Vegas will play at Idaho again on Friday at 6:10 pm (PST).
In the first period, Las Vegas jumped out in front with the only goal of the period. The Wranglers struck on the power play with center Tyler Mosienko scoring his ninth goal of the season just 2:53 into the game. Defensemen Jason Jozsa and Aaron Power each assisted on the power-play tally. Las Vegas held Idaho without a shot for the first ten minutes of the opening period.
In the second period, Las Vegas added two more goals to the lead. Leading scorer, Peter Ferraro ripped a one-timer past Kellen Briggs at 14:!2, giving the Wranglers a 2-0 lead. Mosienko and Ryan Donally assisted on the goal. Before the end of the period, the Wranglers would strike again for the second time on the power play. Winger Adam Cracknell redirected a Jason Krischuk shot for the 3-0 lead just 1:11 later. Shanw Limpright and Krischuk assisted on Cracknell's 12th goal of the season at 15:23.
The team will stay in Boise to face the Idaho Steelheads for two more games, continuing Friday and Saturday night at 6:10 pm at Qwest Arena. Las Vegas will return home on Thursday, December 27th at 7:05 pm to host the Steelehads.
