Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA - The Johnstown Chiefs in conjunction with the Conemaugh Health System announced today that they will be holding the first annual "Pink in the Rink," event when the Chiefs host the Reading Royals on Sunday, January 27. Face off is at 5:05 p.m.

For every ticket sold at this game, the Chiefs will be donating $1 to the Conemaugh Health Foundation. Monies given to the foundation will then be distributed to local breast cancer patients and survivors for medical treatment and supplies.

"We are so thankful to the Johnstown Chiefs for allowing us to be part of "Pink in the Rink," says Susan Mann, President of the Conemaugh Health Foundation. "This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to help make life a little easier and less stressful for those undergoing treatment for breast cancer."

The Chiefs players will be wearing special pink jerseys that will be auctioned following the game with a portion of the proceeds of the auction going to the foundation. All State insurance will be handing out thunder sticks to the first 1500 people through the gate. Following the game there will also be a "Skate with the Chiefs," and autograph session with the Chiefs players.

"We are extremely excited for the first annual Pink in the Rink," said Chiefs Vice President Kevin McGeehan. "Unfortunately almost every family has been affected by this disease. The Johnstown Chiefs want to be able to help breast cancer patients and survivors in some way."

Several other items will be up for raffle along with a pass the hat with all proceeds to the Conemaugh Health Foundation.

Any other businesses or individuals that wish to take part in "Pink in the Rink," are urged to contact the Chiefs office at (814) 539-1799.

The Chiefs have two games prior to the Christmas Break as they host the Cincinnati Cyclones Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
