Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL announced today the signing of center Greg Day and defenseman David Cousineau.
"Day is a guy who will add to our offense. He's a skilled player who should be a great set-up man for some of our finishers", said Wranglers' General Manager and Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "Dave is defenseman that we feel will help us on both ends of the ice. He put up good numbers in college and we hope he can improve on that in his first pro season."
Day enters his second season of professional hockey after splitting time last season between the Worcester Ice Cats of the AHL and the ECHL's Peoria Rivermen. Day tallied 27 points in 30 games with Peoria compiling 12 goals and 15 assists. The 6-foot centerman also played 25 games in Worcester, picking up six goals and seven assists for 13 points. The St. Clair Beach, ONT native, finished his rookie campaign with 40 points in 56 games. The second year forward played four seasons at Bowling Green State University before turning pro. In his time with the Falcons, Day played in 154 games totaling 60 goals and 74 assists for 134 points.
Rookie defenseman David Cousineau (Cooz-uh-no) enters his first season of professional hockey. Cousineau recently completed four seasons at Western Michigan University where he suited up 145 times. The 6-foot-1 blue-liner scored 30 goals and assisted on 70 others for 100 points. The 25-year old also added 221 penalty minutes.
