Chiefs Re-Sign Courchesne

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that they have re-signed defenseman P.L. Courchesne (CORE-shane).

Courchesne, 22, led all Chiefs defenseman in scoring last season with 14 goals and 28 points. Courchesne was the Chiefs only representative to the 2003 ECHL All-Star Game. Last month, the 6'1, 210 LBS native of Nicolet, PQ attended training camp with the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the AHL's Worcester IceCats.

Courchesne appeared in 3 AHL games with the Saint John Flames last season posting 2 assists. Prior to turning pro, Courchesne played five seasons in the QMJHL with Sherbrooke where he scored 49 goals and 205 PTS in 323 games.

"P.L. had a great season with us last season. He was one of the top rookie defenseman in the ECHL. He is only going to get better. We look for him to make great strides this season and move up to the next level," said O'Brien.
