Generals Add Chandler and Bayrack
October 6, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greensboro Generals News Release
Greensboro, NC - - Greensboro Generals Head Coach/General Manager Rick Adduono has announced the signing of wingers Matt Chandler and Mike Bayrack, giving the Generals two additional players on the current roster that have affiliations to last year's club.
The 25-year-old Chandler begins his second tour with the Generals, after an impressive rookie season a year ago. Appearing in 62 games last season, Chandler recorded 10 goals, 11 assists and 21 points. The 6-1, 190-pound left-winger from Watertown, New York will be relied upon by Adduono to give an added scoring punch to his front line.
"His perseverance and work ethic were the main reasons that we felt it was necessary to get Matt Chandler back with Greensboro for the new season," said Adduono.
Playing a majority of the 2002-03 campaign in Toledo, Bayrack joined the Generals for 12 games last season. In the regular season he scored four goals, while adding five assists, and was even more reliable in the ECHL playoffs. Against Atlantic City and Roanoke, he appeared in all eight contests while scoring two goals and eight assists, accumulating 10 points. Outside of his ECHL playing experience, Bayrack was a member of the 2001-02 United Hockey League champion Muskegon.
"Mike was instrumental in our playoff run," said Adduono. "The most important aspect that he brings to the Generals is his speed, which will be very dangerous. I expect a break through goal scoring season from him."
