Camp Opens, One Player Added

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi opened its eighth ECHL training camp today at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, with 14 players taking part.
"It's exciting to be back on the ice," said Bob Woods, Sea Wolves head coach and director of hockey operations. "We're trying to get the players conditioned for new-look ECHL. The competition is going to be fierce. I'm pleased with our skate today. By the end of the week, I expect more players will be joining us."
Woods also announced that center Mike Gamble, has signed a tryout agreement. The training camp addition brings the roster to 15, consisting of nine forwards, four defensemen and two goaltenders.
Gamble, 28, played last season for the Brantford Blast of the Ontario Hockey Association Senior League. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound native of Brantford, Ontario played 12 games, scoring seven goals, adding 10 assists for a total of 17 points while accumulating 35 penalty minutes.
The Sea Wolves training camp practices run 10-11:30 a.m. from Tuesday to Thursday this week. All practices are open to the public at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Mississippi travels to Estero, Florida for two preseason games against the Florida Everblades at TECO Arena on Saturday, October 11 at 6:30 p.m. CT and at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, October 12.
There are a limited number of tickets available for the Sea Wolves home opener on Friday, October 17 against the Louisiana IceGators.
