The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders dropped a hard-fought battle 5-4 to the Worcester WooSox.

Estevan Florial got on the board first with a solo shot to start the contest.

Immediately, the WooSox got back in the bottom half. David Hamilton took a walk and trotted home on Wilyer Abreu's two-run homer. Ronaldo Hernandez followed with a long ball of his own for a 3-1 lead.

The RaidRilders chipped away at the lead with one in the second. Mickey Gasper doubled to reach and Wilmer Difo drove him home.

Worcester added two more in the second on an RBI single from Niko Goodrum. It was a 5-3 advantage for the WooSox.

SWB got closer in the sixth. Difo and Florial notched back-to-back singles to put two on. Jamie Westbrook knocked in Difo with his base hit to bring RailRiders within one, 5-4.

Mitch Spence (L, 1-2) gave the RailRiders four innings out of the gate. He allowed five runs on five hits in his first two frames. The next two were clean. Barrett Loseke tossed his longest outing of the season, keeping the WooSox off the board for 2.2 innings. Michael Gomez got the final out of the seventh and put a zero up in the eighth.

Matt Dermody got the start going just two innings. He allowed two runs on four hits. Norwith Guidino (W, 2-3) took the bulk of the innings garnering four frames. He let up two runs, only one earned. Ryan Sheriff tossed a clean inning. Chase Shugart (S, 1) had a 1-2-3 ninth.

The RailRiders take on the WooSox tomorrow at Polar Park. Righty Sean Boyle gets the ball for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with a 6:45 P.M. (EDT) first pitch.
