Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Jacksonville, Florida - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (11-12) saw their five-game winning streak come to a screeching halt in a 6-1 rain-shortened loss to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (11-11) on Thursday night at 121 Financial Park.
Scott Kingery walked to begin the third and then went to second on a wild pitch. Two outs and a walk later, Simon Muzziotti reached on an infield single with an ensuing error allowing Kingery to score the first run of the game.
Jacksonville answered back in the bottom of the second. Jacob Amaya tied the game with an RBI single. Jake Mangum then grounded to third which resulted in a fielder's choice and error, allowing Charles LeBlanc to score. A walk to Santiago Chavez loaded the bases and Xavier Edwards then walked to force home a run to make it 3-1 Jacksonville.
Jerar Encarnacion doubled with one out and a two-out error allowed him to score to make it 4-1 Jacksonville.
A two-run homer form Peyton Burdick, his ninth of the season, extended the Jumbo Shrimp lead to 6-1 in the seventh.
The game was called in the eighth due to rain, ending the IronPigs five-game winning streak.
