---The Grand Rapids Griffins scored four unanswered goals, including three second-period tallies in a span of 2:51, to defeat the Wolves, 5-1, at Allstate Arena

---Left wing STEVE MALTAIS collected the only Wolves' goal

---Goaltender KARI LEHTONEN stopped 18 of 22 shots before being pulled at the 40-minute mark, and MICHAEL GARNETT stopped all six shots he faced in the third period

---The Wolves had a 2-1 lead early in the second period, but allowed three unanswered goals by the Milwaukee Admirals to fall, 4-2, at the Bradley Center

--- Left wing STEVE MALTAIS tallied two goals, while newcomers CORY LAROSE and BRAD LARSEN each added two assists

---Netminder KARI LEHTONEN registered 24 saves

STEVE MALTAIS: Notched all three Wolves goals last week, including one power-play marker ... Last season, he paced the Wolves with 64 points and shared the team goal lead with 31 goals ... Currently skating in his 11th season with the Wolves, the only player to have skated in every single season in team history

CORY LAROSE: Picked up three assists over the weekend, including two in his Wolves debut Friday night ... Paces the Wolves with 13 shots, including a game-high seven on Saturday against Grand Rapids ... Made his National Hockey League debut with the New York Rangers last season, notching one assist and four penalty minutes in seven games

BRAD LARSEN: Notched two assists in his Wolves debut Friday night ... Appeared in 32 NHL games last season with the Colorado Avalanche and the Atlanta Thrashers, compiling four points (2G, 2A) and 11 penalty minutes

TRAVIS ROCHE: Registered an assist Saturday night against Grand Rapids, his first in a Wolves uniform ... Last season, he led the Houston Aeros with 30 assists and shared third on the club with 38 points in 60 games

KARI LEHTONEN: Paced all Wolves goaltenders last season with 20 wins, a 2.41 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage in 39 regular-season apperances

WOLF TRACKS

---The Wolves have never started a season with back-to-back losses in the club's 11 year history.

---Twelve players on the 2004-05 Wolves roster played in the NHL last year, combining for 249 NHL contests, led by J.P. Vigier's 70 NHL games with the Atlanta Thrashers.

---Last season, the Wolves were tops in the league in home wins (26) and power play goals (76). Chicago placed second in the AHL in scoring with an average of 3.08 goals per game and 246 goals.

PACKING THE PLACE

Chicago's 14,877 fans in attendance on Saturday was the fourth-largest crowd for a home opener in team history. The total attendance ranked just below 1998-99 (18,339), 1999-2000 (17,618) and 1994-95 (16,623).

NOTABLE

The Chicago Wolves will continue to commemorate the life of former Wolves center Dan Snyder this season. Bracelets bearing Snyder's name and his No. 19 will be on sale at all home games and Wolves events for $3. Proceeds will go to charities associated with Snyder.
