ALL-TIME MARKS IN SIGHT OF MORAN AND REICH: The Crunch's all-time marks for points (230), goals (104), assists (126), penalty minutes (649), games played (310), power play goals (36) and game winning goals (14) could all fall during the 2004-05 season. Center Brad Moran enters the week 58 points, 31 goals and 27 assists shy of Lonny Bohonos' career marks in those categories. He is 11 power play goals shy of Reggie Savage's all-time mark of 36 and three game-winning goals short of Bohonos' and Brian Loney's 14 career game-winning goals. Left wing Jeremy Reich enters this week just six penalty minutes behind John Badduke's 649 and 43 games behind Mark Wotton's franchise mark of 310 games played.
SVITOV BECOMES HIGHEST DRAFT PICK TO PLAY FOR CRUNCH: Center Alexander Svitov became the highest drafted player to appear for the Crunch, Friday night, making his Syracuse debut vs. St. John's. Svitov was drafted third overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2001 Entry Draft. A native of Omsk, Russia, Svitov was acquired by Columbus from Tampa Bay, along with a third round draft choice in 2004 for Darryl Sydor and a fourth round pick in 2004 on January 27, 2004. He has appeared in 43 career AHL games with Springfield, Hamilton and Syracuse, recording 14 goals, 14 assists and 98 penalty minutes. In 103 career NHL games with Tampa Bay and Columbus, Svitov has netted 6 goals, 13 assists and 78 penalty minutes. Prior to Svitov, Jim Sandlak (4th in 1985) and Bryan Allen (4th in 1998) held the distinction of being the highest drafted players to appear in a Crunch uniform.
SIX MAKE SYRACUSE DEBUT: Six players made their Syracuse debuts during Friday night's home opener â Francois Beauchemin, Andre Lakos, Jeff Panzer, Alexander Svitov, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen (professional debut) and Matthias Trattnig (North American debut).
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
ST. JOHN'S (TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS): The Crunch travels to St. John's on Thursday, October 21 and Saturday, October 23 for the second and third of eight regular season meetings. Syracuse leads the series 1-0-0-0 after shutting out St. John's 3-0 on Friday, October 15. Center Brad Moran leads all players in head-to-head scoring with two points (1g, 1a). Pascal Leclaire recorded the shutout for Syracuse, stopping a 28 Maple Leafs shots. St. John's goaltender Mikael Tellqvist made 21 saves (.875 percentage) allowing three goals. Lifetime Syracuse is 19-10-0 against St. John's.

Defenseman Zenith Komarniski is four games short of 300 AHL games played.
