Bulldogs take five of six points on the weekend Mon, October 18, 2004 The Hamilton Bulldogs opened the 2004-05 season with a successful two-game road trip and a win in their home opener. The Dogs traveled to Edmonton to take on the new Road Runners and came home with three of a possible four points, after losing 3-2 in overtime and winning the second game 1-0. Not even 18 hours after the second game ended in Edmonton the team was back in Hamilton for the home opener and did not disappoint the hometown fans. Corey Locke scored a goal and added an assist and goalie Yann Danis held off the offensively loaded Manitoba Moose as the Bulldogs won 4-3 in front of 6,422 fans. The Bulldogs will have a similar schedule this upcoming weekend as they travel to Philadelphia on Friday (Oct. 22) to take on the Phantoms, Binghamton on Saturday (Oct 23) where they will face the Senators and back home Sunday (Oct. 24) where they will play host to the Edmonton Roadrunners.

BULLDOGS TEAM NOTES:
Hamilton played on Sunday in front of their 3rd largest crowd at a home opener when 6,422 showed up to cheer on the Bulldogs ... The crowd was also the largest home opener crowd since the 1997-98 season ... The win upped Hamilton's all-time record in home openers to 3 wins and 6 losses ... The team managed to score their 1st PP goal of the season when Duncan Milroy scored the game winner in the 3rd snapping a 0-for-17 PP drought to start the season ... Manitoba's 3rd goal came on the PP and was the first goal the Bulldogs had given up shorthanded, after going 16-for-16 to start the season on the PK ... Chris Higgins shorthanded marker in the first period was Hamilton's 2nd shorthanded goal already this season, which is top in the league ... Hamilton has been out shot by a total of 87-71 so far this season, yet has not lost in regulation

Andrei Kostitsyn - Scored his first professional goal and point with his goal vs. the Road Runners on Friday night
Marc-Andre Thinel's three points (1-2-3) in his first 3 games leads the Bulldogs in scoring and is good enough for a tie for 30th in the league
Jonathan Ferland - His +4 rating is tied for 8th highest in the league
Dan Jancevski - His +4 rating is tied for 8th highest in the league
Raitis Ivanans - Is tied for 13th in the league with 20 minutes in penalties
