Wolves Captain to Speak With Local French Students

Chicago Wolves captain JAMIE RIVERS will visit a French class at the York Community High School as part of the team's educational outreach program on Tue., March 10, at 2:15 p.m. The Wolves blueliner will discuss the importance of foreign language study and the benefits of being bilingual.

The 33-year-old defenseman will address the class in French regarding his hockey background and his experience attending a French-speaking school from kindergarten through high school. He will also answer questions from students.

RIVERS shares second among team blueliners with 21 assists and ranks third with 25 points in 52 games during his 14th professional campaign this season. The Ottawa native is the sixth player and second defenseman in franchise history to be named team captain.

The 11-year National Hockey League veteran has collected 17 goals, 49 assists, 66 points and 385 penalty minutes in 454 career NHL games with the St. Louis Blues, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes.
