Bridgeport, Conn. - The Sound Tigers streak of points in their last 11 games ended tonight as the Norfolk Admirals defeated the Sound Tigers by the score of 3-1. Trevor Smith added to his team lead in goals with his 25th of the season, a minute into the contest for the Sound Tigers. Jay Rosehill also tallied in the opening period but it was Juraj Simek's fifth goal of the season in the second that was the eventual game-winner. Brandon Bochenski clinched the win for Norfolk with an empty-net goal. Peter Mannino started in net for the Sound Tigers and faced 42 shots, turning aside 40. The Sound Tigers drop to 36-18-3-5 but remain two points ahead of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the East Division with 80 points.

Smith wasted no time in taking the 1-0 lead for the Sound Tigers, 1:19 into the first period. Dustin Kohn zipped a pass to Ben Walter in the left circle where he caught the feed and sent it to Smith in the slot. Smith snapped a quick shot over the blocker of Admirals' starting goalie, Riku Helenius for his 25th tally of the season. Just under the halfway mark of the opening frame, Admirals' tough-guy, Jay Rosehill would tie the score at 1-1. Juraj Simek sent a shot on Mannino that he made the first save on, but the puck trickled in front where Rosehill jammed it through Mannino for his fifth goal of the season.

Simek would give the Admirals' their first lead of the game in the second period when he tucked a shot under Mannino's pad for his fifth tally of the season. The unassisted go-ahead goal came at 10:13, to give Norfolk the 2-1 lead.

Bochenski would seal the Norfolk victory with an open-net tally with 27 seconds remaining in the game. Justin Keller and Zenon Konopka had the assists on Bochenski's 24th goal of the season.

Helenius earned the win, stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced while Mannino finished the game with 40 saves. The Sound Tigers were 0-for-3 on the power-play and were 4-for-4 on the penalty-kill.

On Friday, the Sound Tigers will start a three game home stand against the Binghamton Senators at 7 p.m. The following night, Jason Earles, who plays Jackson in the Disney hit show, "Hannah Montana," will sign autographs and take pictures during the Sound Tigers' 7 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Phantoms.
