San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (March 3, 2009) - The San Antonio Rampage today announced that their military-themed jerseys raised $33,500, the most money generated in a Rampage jersey auction, after their sixth annual Military Appreciation night on February 28. The money raised will benefit Operation Comfort and the Rampage Sled Hockey Team.

Rampage rookie Kevin Porter's jersey generated the highest bid with $2,200 of all 39 auctioned jerseys. Goaltender Josh Tordjman's jersey garnered $2,000 and the average jersey price was $1,003.

A special highlight of Rampage Military Appreciation Night included an intra-squad scrimmage among the Rampage Sled Hockey Team during the first intermission. The Sled Hockey Team is comprised primarily of soldiers recovering from life-altering war wounds at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). A total of five players, half of the sled-hockey team, wore the same commemorative jerseys as the Rampage that night. The Sled Hockey Team is a joint effort between the Rampage and Operation Comfort. The team is coached by Lonnie Hannah, a current member of the U.S. Paralympics Sled Hockey Team that won the Bronze medal at the 2006 Games in Turino, Italy, and a Gold medal at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City.

The jerseys consisted of shades of grey digital camouflage, the signature Rampage bullhead logo on the front wearing an Army beret with gold trim, Army sergeant insignias on the sleeves, and black numbers and names with gold trim.

The Rampage also set a new franchise record for attendance that night hosting 10,265 fans in their first home game back from a month-long road trip. The Saturday night crowd eclipsed the Rampage's previous record of 10,238 which was set February 27, 2003 when the Rampage returned from their annual rodeo road trip during their inaugural season.

The Rampage's next jersey-themed night will be Boy Scout Appreciation Night on April 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available and can be purchased at the AT&T Center Box Office, by calling the Rampage at (210) 444-5554, or by visiting the team's website at www.sarampage.com.
