River Rats Release Ryan Cruthers From PTO

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that right wing Ryan Cruthers has been released from his professional tryout agreement and returned to the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL.

Cruthers, 24, played in four games for Albany with no points, eight penalty minutes and a -2 plus-minus rating. The Farmingdale, New York native signed a PTO with the River Rats on February 25th and made his Rats debut that night at Bridgeport, Albany's first AHL game since their February 19th bus crash. Cruthers now returns to Mississippi where he still leads the team in points (56), goals (26), and assists (30) in 50 games played and he is tied for eighth in the ECHL in scoring.

Next up for Albany is a short two-game road trip beginning on Friday, March 6th as they visit the Springfield Falcons for a 7:30 pm face off at MassMutual Center. The River Rats will then play at Worcester on Saturday, March 7th at 7:05 pm and then return home on Sunday, March 8th at the Glens Falls Civic Center as they host their archrival Syracuse Crunch at 5:00 pm.
