Montreal Assigns Kyle Chipchura To Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Kyle Chipchura has been assigned from the Canadiens to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Chipchura is scheduled to be available for tonight's game in Syracuse.

Chipchura, 23, has played in a total of 33 games for Hamilton in 2008-2009, recording 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) along with 29 penalty minutes. This season, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound centre has played in 13 games with the Canadiens, recording three assists and five penalty minutes. Currently in his third professional season, the Westlock, Alberta native was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1st round, 18th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs battle the Crunch in Syracuse tonight for a 7:00 p.m. game. Fans can listen to every 'Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
