The Hartford Wolf Pack, off to a 2-0-0 start to their 2002-03 season, open the home portion of their schedule this Saturday, October 19th vs. the Manchester Monarchs (7:05 PM faceoff). That follows a visit to in-state rival Bridgeport Friday (7:35 PM), the first of 10 games this year between the Wolf Pack and Sound Tigers.

The defending AHL regular-season champions host the Wolf Pack in the first salvo of this year's Battle of Connecticut...The Sound Tigers fell just short of the Calder Cup in their inaugural season last year, losing in the Finals to the Chicago Wolves.

The Wolf Pack and Monarchs renew acquaintances for the first time since last spring's first-round playoff battle, which saw the Wolf Pack oust Manchester in a decisive fifth game, in double-overtime.

Wolf Pack in the Community: A Wolf Pack player will be skating with the Connecticut Chasers at the Chasers' practice Wednesday, October 23. The practice takes place from 4:00-4:50 PM at Avon Old Farms School rink. The Connecticut Chasers is a hockey program for developmentally disadvantaged individuals of all ages.

Pack Talk at City Steam:

The Wolf Pack's weekly radio program, Pack Talk, broadcasts live from City Steam, on Main Street in downtown Hartford, from 6-7 PM on Monday nights throughout the season. Pack Talk is hosted by the radio voice of the Wolf Pack, Bob Crawford, and is broadcast on ESPN Radio 1410. The show features different Wolf Pack guests each week, and the guests will take questions from the live audience. Scheduled to be on this week's show are Assistant Coach Nick Fotiu and Captain Ken Gernander.
