Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, New York – The Binghamton Senators announced three personnel moves today that reduced their roster to 23. Defenseman Ilja Demidov was reassigned to the Augusta Lynx of the East Coast Hockey League. Also heading to the Lynx on loan from the Senators is right wing Jeff Szwez. Defenseman Derrick Byfuglien was released by the team.

Demidov and Byfuglien participated in all four of Binghamton's preseason contests, but neither dressed for Friday's season-opening 5-4 overtime win versus Bridgeport or Saturday's 5-3 loss to Hartford.

Szwez lead all Binghamton preseason scorers with three goals and seven points. Szwez appeared in Friday's season opener versus Bridgeport, going pointless while registering 1 shot.

The Senators are on the road this weekend, traveling to Rochester on Friday (7:35 p.m.) and Syracuse on Saturday (7:30 p.m.). All games can be heard on 680 WINR with Countdown to Face-Off 20 minutes prior to game time.

Binghamton's next home game is on Friday, October 25, as the Wilkes-Barre Penguins come to town for a 7:05 p.m. draw at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Tickets are currently available for this and all remaining regular season games at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, or by calling the Senators' Hotline at 722-SENS.
