
Penguins Install Safety Netting

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have installed the safety netting behind the goals at the First Union Arena at Casey Plaza in time for Saturday's game versus the Philadelphia Phantoms (7:05 p.m. start).
In the interest of fan safety, David Andrews, President and CEO of the American Hockey League, announced on July 8, 2002 a mandate that all 28 AHL clubs to install netting above the glass that borders the corners and end zones of their rinks.
A limited number of tickets are still available for the game. Tickets can be purchased at the First Union Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets.
Saturday's game will also be televised live on Adelphia 63, WNEP-TV's 24-hour News Channel.
