Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON - The Houston Aeros kick off their 2002-03 road season on Friday night with a five game swing through Michigan and Ohio. The Aeros' season began last weekend with a pair of 3-1 wins over the Utah Grizzlies at home.

The American Hockey League club begins the trip in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they take on the Griffins at 6:30 PM on Friday. The Griffins switched affiliations this summer and now boast the prospects of the Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings.

Following Friday's game, Houston heads to Cincinnati to play two games versus the Mighty Ducks. On Saturday, game time is 6:30 PM and the weekend wraps up with a matinee game in Cincinnati at 3:00 PM on Sunday.

After two days to catch their breath following the three-in-three, Houston takes on the Cleveland Barons on Wednesday, October 23 at 6:00 PM. To wrap up the eight-day trip, the Aeros head back to where it started, Grand Rapids, for a game on Oct. 24.

Houston then heads home to host the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday, October 26 at Compaq Center at 7:30 PM. This will be the first regular season match-up between the I-10 rivals. Houston defeated the Rampage in two pre-season games earlier this month. The Aeros will be celebrating Halloween a few days early and will feature trick-or-treating and decorations on the concourse. Costumes are welcomed.

All games will be broadcast on AM 700 KSEV radio, so tune into "The Voice of the Aeros," Ken Double as he calls every shot and goal on "The Voice." The games in Grand Rapids and Cleveland will be joined-in-progress at 7:00 PM. All times are Central.
