Connecticut Whale News Release
The Wolf Pack went 0-2-0-1 in three home games in the first week of 2008, their first three-game winless streak of the season. The week started with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Portland Pirates Wednesday, then the Pack spotted the Hershey Bears a 4-0 lead coming out of Friday's first period, in a game they would eventually lose by a score of 5-4. On Saturday night, The Wolf Pack saw a streak of 11 straight divisional games with at least a standings point (9-0-0-2) end, with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Lowell Devils. Nigel Dawes struck for 3-1-4 in the three games, and P.A. Parenteau notched 1-3-4.
This week:
The Wolf Pack jump on the bus for a three-game road trip this week, as they travel to Norfolk for games against the Admirals Friday and Saturday (both 7:15 starts), and then head to Hershey for a 5:00 game on Sunday.

Friday, January 11th at Norfolk (Scope Arena), 7:15 p.m.
- Last season as a Chicago Blackhawks affiliate, the Admirals compiled a 50-22-6-2 record for 108 points. This year, in the first season of an affiliation agreement with Tampa Bay, Norfolk stands at 11-22-1-3 for 26 points after 37 games, last in the East Division.
- The Admirals snapped a nine-game losing streak by registering a win and a shootout loss in back-to-back home games this past weekend vs. Bridgeport.
- This is the second meeting of the season between the Admirals and Wolf Pack. The Pack defeated the Admirals, 6-3, in a November 14th battle in Hartford.
- Norfolk point-scoring leader Kyle Wanvig (13-23-36 in 33 GP) is currently on recall to Tampa Bay. Norm Milley has 10-17-27 in 35 GP.

Sunday, January 13th at Hershey (Giant Center), 5:00 p.m.
- This is a rematch of Friday's game at the XL Center, which the Bears won by a score of 5-4, after building a 4-0 lead in the first period.
- Joe Motzko, Andrew Gordon and Scott Barney all had a goal and an assist each in Friday's Hershey win, and Bear leading scorer Kyle Wilson (10-16-26 in 35 GP) chipped in a pair of assists. Darren Machesney, who leads the AHL in save percentage (.930) and ranks third in goals-against average (2.09), made 38 saves.
- Hershey has won four of its last five games, and five of its last seven, to climb to 20-13-0-2 for 42 points. That is good for a tie for third place in the East Division, and puts the Bears just one point out of the second spot.
