The Wolf Pack fell to 0-3-0-0 on the young season this past weekend, as they dropped a pair of games. The Pack saw a 3-1 third-period lead slip away Friday at home against Bridgeport and ended up on the short end of a 6-3 score. Then in their first road game, Saturday at Lowell, the Wolf Pack outshot the Devils by a margin of 34-25, but lost a 3-2 decision. Lauri Korpikoski had a power-play goal in both games, and Brandon Dubinsky notched the first two regular-season goals of his pro career in Friday's contest.

This week:

The Wolf Pack get a crack at evening the GEICO Connecticut Cup series Friday, when they make their first visit of the season to The Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. Saturday finds the Pack back at the Hartford Civic Center, hosting the defending Atlantic Division-champion Portland Pirates.

Tuesday, October 17 - "Wolf Pack Confidential" at Little Mark's Big Barbecue on ESPN Radio 1410

This season's premiere edition of the Wolf Pack's weekly Tuesday-night talk show, hosted by Bob Crawford,

features Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld and captain Craig Weller as scheduled guests. The show airs live from Little Mark's Big Barbecue, located at 279 West Main St. in Avon from 7:00 - 8:00 PM, and can be heard on ESPN Radio 1410 and on-line at hartfordwolfpack.com. Fans are invited to be on hand at Little Mark's for the show, and the guests will be taking questions from the live audience.

Friday, October 20 at Bridgeport (The Arena at Harbor Yard), 7:30 p.m.

The Sound Tigers defeated the Wolf Pack in the first installment of the 2006-07 GEICO Connecticut Cup, 6-3, on Friday in Hartford.

Blake Comeau, who had a five-point outburst (2-3-5) in Friday's Bridgeport comeback, has totaled two goals and seven assists for nine points in only three games on the year.

After winning their first two games of the season, the Sound Tigers suffered their first defeat of the year on Saturday, falling to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by a score of 4-1 in Wilkes-Barre.

Saturday, October 21 vs. Portland at the Hartford Civic Center, 7:00 p.m.

Head Coach Kevin Dineen's Pirates, who were tops in the Atlantic Division a year ago with a record of 53-19-5-3 for 114 points, are off to a 3-0-0-1 (7 pts.) start this season.

The Wolf Pack were 4-6-0-0 in the 2005-06 season series against Portland, and the Pirates won four of the five games played between the two teams at the Hartford Civic Center.

Drew Miller, a rookie forward out of Michigan State University, leads the Pirates in scoring through the first four games, with a goal and five assists for six points. Former Wolf Pack Colby Genoway is tied for second, with 1-4-5.

The Wolf Pack FanFest presented by TD Banknorth will kick-off in the atrium of the newly renovated Hartford 21 mall surrounding the Civic Center beginning at 6:00 PM. FanFest features fun for the whole family, with face painters, clowns, an inflatable hockey shot game, and the always popular Money Machine sponsored by TD Banknorth. New this season---WTIC's Damon Scott will emcee.

Sunday, October 22 - Annual Bowl-a-Thon to Benefit Special Olympics Connecticut - (AMF Silver Lanes in East Hartford), 11:00 AM & 2:00 PM

The Wolf Pack players will be taking to the lanes at AMF Silver Lanes, 748 Silver Lane in East Hartford (860-569-2990), in two sessions, one beginning at 11:00 AM and the other at 2:00 PM, to bowl alongside Special Olympics athletes and teams of four comprised of fans, business leaders, civic groups and others. The event benefits Special Olympics Connecticut. Over the past six years, the Wolf Pack have helped to raise $129,000.
