April 2, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release
Hartford, April 2, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have released center Darin Olver from his Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement.
Olver, a second-round draft pick (36th overall) by the parent New York Rangers in 2004, played in six games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering one point and eight penalty minutes. The 5-11, 175-pound native of Burnaby, British Columbia recently completed a four-year college career at Northern Michigan University (CCHA). In 41 games this season with the Wildcats, Olver notched 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points, along with 47 penalty minutes. That was good for tops on the team in assists and second in points and goals.
The Pack are scheduled for another hectic week this week hosting the Portland Pirates at home on Wednesday (7:00 PM start), followed by a road trip to Worcester on Friday night to take on the Sharks (7:00 PM faceoff). The Pack then return to Hartford, hosting the Springfield Falcons on Saturday (7:00 PM start) and Albany River Rats on Sunday (4:00 PM faceoff).
