Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips extended their winning streak to nine games as forward Bryce Kindopp scored two goals and goaltender Dustin Wolf remained perfect, stopping 21 of 21 shots, his 7th career WHL shutout, as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Spokane Chiefs, 2-0, before 4,873 fans at A.O.T.W. Arena on Sunday night.

Wolf moved up to 5th all-time in shutouts in Silvertips history. Kindopp lit the lamp first with 4:26 to go in regulation and followed it up with an empty netter with 12 seconds remaining. The Tips ended a stretch of playing in 10 of 13 games at home with a 9-0-1 in their set of home games and moved to within six points of the top record in the league, held by the Prince Albert Raiders.

UP NEXT: The Silvertips face back-to-back road games starting Wednesday in Spokane at 7:05 p.m., then take on the host Vancouver Giants on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:35 p.m. The Western Conference-leading Silvertips return home for Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, Dec. 15 against the Seattle Thunderbirds at 7:05 p.m. (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App / WHL Live) in downtown Everett. Tickets remain on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/teddybeartoss.

Everett held the edge on shots, 13-7, while perfect on the penalty kill in the opening frame, as the Tips killed an early Dawson Butt interference penalty at 2:01. With under a minute left in the first, Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf cut down the angle and made a huge save to stop Chiefs forward Jake McGrew's breakaway.

The Silvertips held the Spokane to four shots on goal in the second, while the Tips landed 16 shots that period, totaling in 29 shots after two periods of play.

It took the Tips until 4:26 left in regulation to notch the game-winning goal by Kindopp. Max Patterson dug the puck out the corner, fed it to Wyatte Wylie at the point who ripped a shot that ricocheted off Reece Vitelli first, then Kindopp, who was credited the goal.

Spokane pulled their goaltender with just over two minutes left in the third, which lead to Connor Dewar saucing a pass to Kindopp, which put the Everett up 2-0 with only 11.1 seconds left to go.
