Wizards Team up with Area Churches

BISMARCK, ND, December 10, 2008 - The NBA Development League Central Division Champion Dakota Wizards announced that they have teamed up with a number of area churches to host the first ever Dakota Wizards Faith & Family Day to be held on Sunday, December 14th 2008. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm CT with lots of activities starting at 4:00 pm CT in the Exhibition Hall at the Bismarck Civic Center.
"This has been a great experience," said Wizards GM Tom Wagganer. "We are happy we can bring something new to the state, and we look forward the Faith & Family Day as it will give folks yet another way to experience the Wizards."
A number of churches have pre-registered to be a part of this exciting event that will include a "Preachers ân Sneakers" basketball game on the Wizards court prior to the Wizards match up against Tulsa. Starting at 5:00 pm CT, local inspirational speaker and artist Bob Upgren will be speaking to those in attendance as well sharing one of his amazing chalk drawings.
In the Exhibition Hall of the Civic Center, fans can experience a carnival type atmosphere and play games or get their face painted among many other activities for the young or the young at heart. Courtesy of local partners of Faith and Family Day, participating churches were able to get tickets for the Wizards' event for just 83 cents. Special thanks to Red Carpet Car Wash, Miller Insulation and Bismarck Funeral Home for giving this experience to the city of Bismarck.
