August 20, 2009 - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers won their fourth game in a row against the Cedar Rapids Kernels by the score of 9-4 on Thursday night at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, WI. The Timber Rattlers broke open a 3-2 game with consecutive two out, two run doubles in the fifth, six and seventh innings as starter R.J. Seidel (1-2) allowed two runs on four hits over five innings for the win.
Roberto Lopez led the Kernel offense, going 3-4 with a double and RBI and Adam Younger was 2-4 with an RBI. Darwin Perez finished 1-2 with an RBI single and Tyson Auer was 1-4 with an RBI and stolen base (38). Brock Kjelgaard went 2-5 for Wisconsin with a double, home run and 3 RBI.
Kernels starter Will Smith (8-4) made his first start since July 12 and was roughed up for five runs on five hits over 4.2 innings. Matt Shoemaker, Chris Armstrong and Kyle Hurst threw a combined 3.1 innings out of the Kernel bullpen.
