PENSACOLA, FL - Jesse Winker was the walk-off hero for the second night in a row as his leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (6-9, 37-48) to a 3-2 win over the Jacksonville Suns (7-7, 43-41) in Thursday's series finale from Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

Jose Urena did not factor into the decision but the right-hander put forth one of his strongest efforts of the 2014 season. In eight innings of work, the 22-year-old righty allowed two runs on four hits while walking a pair of batters and striking out seven Blue Wahoos. After allowing both runs in the third inning, Urena held Pensacola off the scoreboard over his final five innings of work.

Casey McCarthy (L, 1-1) took the loss as the first and only batter he'd face would take him deep as Jesse Winker came through with the walk-off solo shot.

Scott Maine (W, 1-0) earned the win for Pensacola by tossing one inning of shutout relief, allowing one hit while picking up a strikeout in Thursday night's outing.

Joe Benson put the Suns on the scoreboard first with a run-scoring infield single in the top of the first inning. Heads-up base running from Austin Nola allowed him to put the Suns up 1-0 as he came in all the way from second base to score on the infield base hit.

It was Benson adding to the lead for the Suns again in the third inning as his sacrifice fly scored Jose Urena to double Jacksonville's lead to 2-0.

Pensacola scored twice to level the ballgame at 2-2 after receiving a RBI double from starting pitcher Ben Lively and a RBI single from Yorman Rodriguez in the bottom of the third inning.

Then for the second night in a row, Jesse Winker (HR, 2) sent the fans home happy with a walk-off hit, leading off the bottom of the ninth inning with a walk-off homer to secure the Wahoos of a 3-2 victory in the series finale.

The Suns will head back to Jacksonville to start up a five-game home series against the Chattanooga Lookouts, with the first pitch of Friday's series opener set for 7:05 p.m. ET. The Suns will send out left-hander Chipper Smith (2-3, 4.60) while the Lookouts will counter with right-hander Nick Struck (1-4, 7.80).
