Wingnuts' Amberson Tabbed as Batter of the Week

WICHITA, KS - Wichita Wingnuts' right fielder David Amberson has been named the American Association's Batter of the Week for June 10th through June 16th.

Amberson hit .583 (14 for 24) in seven games with seven runs scored and seven RBI. Amberson is currently riding a 16-game hitting streak in which he is 26 for 55 (.473). The streak is tied for the fifth-longest in franchise history. The 25-year-old true rookie collected a season-high four hits and three RBI in Sunday's 18-6 win versus St. Paul. Amberson finished his collegiate career last season at Western Oregon University.

Amberson becomes the second Wingnut to earn league honors this season. Jared McDonald was named Batter of the Week for May 27th through June 2nd.
