Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Adds Three Players from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled forward Patrick McGrath from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL); forward Anton Zlobin has been reassigned by the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) from Wheeling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton; and forward Derek Army has been signed to a professional tryout contract.

McGrath has appeared in three games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording 12 penalty minutes. In 24 games with the Nailers this year, McGrath has tied a career-high with three goals, and he leads the team with 110 penalty minutes.

Zlobin has 19 points (8G-11A) in 26 games this season with Wheeling. A sixth round pick of Pittsburgh in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Zlobin has appeared in 52 career regular season games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, scoring eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points.

After finishing the 2014-15 season second on the Nailers with 66 points (29G-37A), Army has seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points this year. The second-year pro made his AHL debut earlier this season on Nov. 13, 2015 as a member of the Portland Pirates. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will be the third AHL team that Army has played for this season, after Portland and the Ontario Reign.

The Penguins' next home game is Saturday, Feb. 6 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The game also serves as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's annual "Pink in the Rink" night.
