St. John's IceCaps News Release

ST. JOHN'S, NL - Richard Bachman stole the show on Royal Newfoundland Regiment tribute night, making 40 saves as the Utica Comets defeated the St. John's IceCaps 5-2 Friday at Mile One Centre.

St. John's allowed three goals in the opening 5:16 of the game and couldn't dig out of the early hole. Bud Holloway and Jacob de la Rose scored for the home side while Eddie Pasquale stopped 26-0f-28 shots in relief of Zach Fucale, who was pulled after allowing three goals on four shots. Wacey Hamilton (2G, 1A) and Carter Bancks (1G, 2A) paced the Comets.

The IceCaps paid tribute to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment as part of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme at Beaumont-Hamel by wearing special jerseys and honouring former and current members of the military throughout the game.

The two teams meet once again Saturday night at Mile One. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Mile One Centre box office or online at www.mileonecentre.com.
