BOWIE, Md. - The Baltimore Orioles and the Bowie Baysox announce a player move today. LHP Wilfrido Perez has been designated for assignment by the Baltimore Orioles. No corresponding move has been announced.

Perez pitched in five games for the Baysox this season, going 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA over 5.0 innings. In his career, Perez has appeared in 45 games for the Baysox, going 2-1 with eight saves and a 2.63 ERA.

With the move, the Baysox currently have 24 players on the roster, including Koji Uehara on a Major League rehab assignment. Players on Major League rehab assignments do not count against a team's 24 man roster.
