Uehara Joins Baysox

BOWIE, Md. - The Baltimore Orioles and the Bowie Baysox announce today that Orioles righty Koji Uehara will join the Baysox for a Major League rehab assignment starting today. Uehara is scheduled to appear in today's game at 7:05 p.m. and on Thursday, April 29, as the Baysox take on the Erie SeaWolves at 11:05 a.m.

Last year, Uehara became the first Japanese-born player in Orioles history, making 12 starts for Baltimore. He went 2-4 with a 4.05 ERA while striking out 48 batters in 66.2 innings. He has not pitched in a game yet this season.

An updated roster and complete list of transactions is attached to this message. Players on Major League rehab assignments do not count towards a team's 24 man roster.
