TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Britain Rock Cats will meet in a doubleheader, games one and two of a three-game series...The scheduled series opener between the Flying Squirrels and Rock Cats was rained out last night at New Britain Stadium.

TONIGHT'S GAME ONE STARTERS: Right-hander Daryl Maday gets the start in game one of the doubleheader for the Flying Squirrels...Got the win in his second straight start against New Britain on 4/20...Tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four and walking none...Faced just one batter over the minimum...Both hits allowed came off of the bat of Alexander Soto...Only went three balls in the count to one of the 25 batters he faced...Retired the leadoff batter in all eight innings...Recorded 13 ground outs, six fly outs, and four strike outs...Threw 86 pitches, 58 strikes...Did not throw more than 15 pitches in an inning...Eight innings of work was the longest outing of his career...Has not allowed a run in his last 16 2/3 innings of work...Improved to 3-0 in five career starts against New Britain with a 1.99 ERA (7ER/31.2 IP)...Seeking his third straight winning decision for the first time since winning four in-a-row 8/9/08-8/25/08.

Left-hander Tyler Robertson gets the nod in game one of the doubleheader for the Rock Cats....Was supposed to start Sunday's series finale with Harrisburg that was postponed due to rain...Received a no-decision in his last start which came against Richmond on 4/20...Worked five scoreless innings while allowing just four hits...Struck out four and walked one...Threw 74 pitches, 46 strikes...Had his start at Harrisburg cut short due to rain (4/16) after giving up one run on two hits in two innings...Was matched up with Stephen Strasburg...Did not factor into the decision...Gave up three runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings against New Hampshire in his first start...Struck out one and walked one, but did not factor into the decision...Selected by MIN in the 3rd round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

TONIGHT'S GAME TWO STARTERS: Right-hander David Mixon gets the start in game two of the doubleheader for the Flying Squirrels...Received a no-decision against New Britain on 4/21 after allowing two runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings...Struck out four and walked one...All six hits given up were singles...Allowed the leadoff man to reach in each of his first three innings on the mound...Walked Whit Robbins leading off the second inning and allowed him to score on a Joe Benson sacrifice fly...Other run allowed scored after he left the game as Daniel Turpen threw a wild pitch with Estarlin De Los Santos on third base...Recorded seven ground outs, four fly outs and four strike outs...Threw 84 pitches, 52 strikes.

Right-hander Mike McCardell gets the nod in game two of the doubleheader for the Rock Cats...Last start came against Richmond on 4/21...Gave up just three runs even though he allowed 10 hits in six innings...Struck out one batter and walked none...Surrendered a leadoff home run to Darren Ford in the bottom of the first inning...Was struck with a Ford line drive in the second which allowed another run to score...Also gave up a RBI double to Jackson Williams...Allowed three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings at Harrisburg on 4/15...Struck out four and walked two, not factoring into the decision...Suffered the loss on 4/10 against New Hampshire...Allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits in four innings of work...Struck out none and walked four...Selected by MIN in the 6th round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Kutztown University.

NOT SO GRAND FINALE: The Flying Squirrels fell to 1-4 in series finales with Sunday's 2-0 loss to the R-Phils...The club's lone win in the final game of a series came on 4/21 against New Britain...Yesterday was Richmond's first rubber match of the season...The Flying Squirrels fell to 2-3 in series this season.

NOCTURNAL SQUIRRELS: The Flying Squirrels are 0-3 in day games this season after Sunday's 2-0 loss...Richmond also lost 4-1 at Bowie on 4/11 and fell to Reading 5-2 on 4/18...The team is 8-6 in night games.

ALIVE AFTER FIVE?: The Flying Squirrels fell to 0-6 when trailing after five innings with Sunday's 2-0 loss to Reading...On the flip side, the club is 6-0 when leading after five innings...Richmond is 2-3 when tied after five innings.
