November 9, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

Pensacola, FL- Marc Fulton scored his first professional goal at 15:16 of the second period to break a 2-2 tie but it was Danick Bouchard's team-leading seventh goal of the season that proved the game winner a minute later as the Wildcatters (7-1-0-1) held on to win at Pensacola (1-7-0-1) 4-3 Friday night.

Pensacola began the scoring as Daniel Sullivan beat Texas goalie Peter Aubry to give the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead on the power play at 10:16 of the first period.

Texas would knot the score when John McNabb found the back of the net for the seventh time this season-a feat which ties him with Bouchard for the team lead. Rookie Maxim Noreau, on loan to the ‘Catters from their AHL affiliate in Houston, registered his first professional point by assisting on the McNabb goal.

Pensacola would reclaim the lead when A.J. McLean would score in traffic at the 15:04 mark in the first and would carry the lead into the break.

The second period would belong to the Boys from Beaumont.

Marco Rosa registered his fifth goal of the season on a feed from A.J. Thelen and Moises Gutierrez at 4:45 of the stanza to tie the game, and the one-two punch of Fulton and Bouchard-scoring just 57 seconds apart- would dramatically change the tempo of the match and make the score 4-2.

Texas outshot Pensacola 18-5 in the second period and 45-29 on the evening.

Mike Sgroi, playing in his first game with Pensacola, would bring the Ice Pilots back within a goal but Aubry would make several key saves down the stretch to secure the win for Texas.

The Wildcatters are unbeaten since the season opener in Augusta but face perhaps their toughest test of the young season when they travel to face the league-leading Gwinnett Gladiators (8-1-0-0) Saturday night at 6:35 CDT.

"Gwinnett is obviously the class of the league right now. We'll definitely see what we're made of tomorrow night," said Head Coach Malcolm Cameron.
