Salmon Kings win streak snapped

The Salmon Kings came into West Valley City, Utah riding a four game winning streak, but the streak ended as the Grizzlies beat the Kings 7-1.

Julien Ellis made a great save in the first period to deny Utah's leading scorer Scott Burt on a breakaway. Although, Utah got on the board first when Trevor Smith beat Ellis to stake Utah to a 1-0 lead. That is how the two teams would go to the locker room after 20 minutes.

Period two saw the Grizzlies increase their lead when Burt scored his sixth of the season to give the home team a 2-0 lead. Utah would notch two more before the period would end to stake a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Utah would continue to play a great game in the third period by scoring three more times to take a 7-0 lead. Kiel McLeod would break the shut out with 1:01 remaining to make the final score 7-1 for Utah.

The Kings went 1/6 with the man advantage and Utah went 0/4. The shots ended up 38-17 in favour of the Grizzlies. These two teams meet tomorrow night at the E-Center in West Valley City, Utah at 6:05 p.m. PT.
