Evansville, IN-The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, beat the Evansville Otters for the second night in a row, 6-4.

After going down 1-0 after the first inning, the Wild Things stormed back and scored two runs in each of the next two innings to take a 4-1 lead. With two outs in the second inning, shortstop Kevyn Feiner hit a double and drove in first baseman Doug Thennis and designated hitter Eric Stephens to take the lead.

Wild Things second baseman Scott Lawson added to his team's lead in the top of the third by reaching home plate while right fielder Luis Rivera stole second base. Rivera was later driven in on a double by Thennis.

Washington insured their lead in the top of the ninth, with Lawson and Rivera each driving in a run. Rivera was 2-for-5 on the night with one run and one RBI.

Wild Things starting pitcher Gary Lee (2-4) spent eight innings on the mound and allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits. Lee had four walks and two strikeouts. Taylor Wulf finished the game, pitching the final 2/3 of the ninth inning. Wulf allowed one hit and had one strikeout.

Evansville starter Matt Trent (0-2) lasted four innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on five hits. Trent walked three batters and struck out three. Reliever Joey Satriano pitched four innings, allowing no runs and just one hit. Satriano walked one and struck out three.

The Wild Things close out their series against the Otters on Thursday, August 11, at 7:35 p.m. Pre-game coverage begins at 7:25 on WJPA 95.3 FM.
