EASTLAKE, OH - Greg Wilborn allowed two first inning runs but held the Lake County Captains scoreless after the second batter he faced Thursday evening in a 6-3 victory for the Great Lakes Loons at Classic Park.

The Loons took an early lead in the game. O'Koyea Dickson hit an opposite field two-run home run in the top of the first. Later Pratt Maynard doubled to left to give the Loons a 2-0 edge. But Lake County followed with a bunt single by Jose Ramirez down the third base line. Then Francisco Lindor hit a line drive down the right field line toward the Captains bullpen bench. Right fielder Nick Akins signaled the ball was unplayable but later threw the ball into the infield while Lindor was rounding the bases for an inside-the-park home run.

With the score tied 2-2, Scott Schebler tripled with one out in the fourth. Next Jesse Bosnik singled up the middle scoring Schebler. Later Bosnik scored on an infield single by Darnell Sweeney.

In the sixth, the Loons put together three straight hits to begin the inning by Bosnik, Jeff Hunt and James Baldwin to push across two additional runs. The Captains scored their third run on a long solo homer by Alex Lavisky.

Greg Wilborn (2-1) tied a career high with six walks, but no player put on by walk came in to score. He struck out six over six innings, allowing two runs (both earned) on three hits. Juan Rodriguez worked a scoreless ninth striking out two for his second save.

Shawn Morimando (5-4) notched the loss, allowing seven hits and three walks over 4 2/3 innings.

The Loons (21-25 second half, 55-61 overall) play the final game of a three-game series with the Captains (25-21, 56-59) Friday night at 7pm. Right-handed pitcher Duke von Schamann (2-3, 2.93) is scheduled to start for the Loons against Lake County lefty Danny Jimenez (1-1, 4.32) . The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 100.9-FM.
