The Party at the Park continues as the Kernels open a six game, seven day home stand. Here's what you can expect at the ballpark each of the next six games:
August 11-13 vs. Kane County
The Kernels begin a six-game home stand with three games against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
It's one of the most popular nights of the year - Jimmy Buffett Night on Saturday, August 11th. The gates open at 4:00 pm with first pitch set for 5:05 pm. The first 500 fans through the gates receive a free beach towel from St. Luke's Hospital. The Kernels will wear special Hawaiian jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction during the game. Come dressed in your favorite tropical beach attire and stick around after the game for a concert by the Cedar Island Band, followed by FIREWORKS around 9:00 pm, presented by Genencor/DuPont. Then, the Cedar Island Band will resume playing until 11 pm with tropical drinks, Landshark, Corona and Bud Light Lime available the whole time. It's a busy day on Sunday, August 12th when the Kernels take on Kane County at 2:05 pm. Exhibition hitter Christian James will attempt to hit 100 baseball in 100 seconds during pregame as he spreads the word about cancer awareness. It's a 104.5 KDAT Run the Bases Sunday where fans can get autographs from the Kernels on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm, play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game for a chance to win a trip to Anaheim in 2013 to see the Angels, and fans can run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse during the game. Gates open at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 12th.
The Kernels and Kane County wrap up their three game set on Monday, August 13th with a 6:35 pm game with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
August 15-17 vs. Quad Cities
After an off-day on Tuesday, the Kernels wrap up the home stand with three games against the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Midwest League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The series kicks off with a 6:35 pm game between the Kernels and Quad Cities with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 16th as the first 1,000 guests through the gates receive a free Mike Trout poster from the LA Angels. Fans that choose to bike to the game and park in the special bike corral on the NW side of the stadium can register to be entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to the Iowa State/Iowa football game at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, September 8th, thanks to Fleck Sales and New Belgium Ale. It's a Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday with 12 oz. domestic draft beer for $1.50 and bottled soda and water for $2.00. Midwest Dueling Pianos, presented by USA Entertainment Group, will perform during and after the game and the game will be broadcast live by Mediacom on MC22. And after the game, fans will receive a frree sample of Sun Drop soda, thanks to Dr. Pepper/SevenUp. First pitch between the Kernels and Quad Cities is set for 6:35 pm.
The home stand wraps up on Friday, August 17th with Green Night and the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a free reusable bag from 7G Distributing. Fans are encouraged to wear green to the game and will learn tips on recycling and conservation. The game will be broadcast live on KCRG 9.2 and it's a Kernels Mug Club Night, presented by Sip N Stir with media partner 98.1 KHAK. Buy a 16 oz. collectors mug for $5 and get it filled with domestic draft beer or soda at the Kernels Concession Stands. Get refills for just $2.50 during the game and bring your mug back every Friday Kernels home game for $2.50 refills or take your mug to Sip N Stir for $2.50 refills anytime! And following the game, enjoy a spectacular FIREWORKS show with a 'green' intro, thanks to Bank of the West. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and River Bandits is set for 6:35 pm.

104.5 KDAT Run the Bases Sunday: Every Sunday home game, fans can get autographs from the Kernels players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo for a chance to win a trip Anaheim in 2013 and see an Angels game. And after the game, kids (and adults) can run the bases and play catch on the field. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and face painting by Funny Face Designs by Lori. The Storybook Princesses from Glass Slipper Entertainment and juggler Doug Sayers will be here on three select Sundays.
Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday: 12 oz. draft beer is $1.50 all game and get bottled soda and water for $2.

Noon Game Lunch Combo Special: Every Kernels noon home game, get a Lunch Combo Special, consisting of a sandwich (hamburger, cheeseburger, brat or hot dog), chips or popcorn and 16 oz. domestic draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water for just $7!
Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com ; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
