
Wichita's Jon Booras Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 20, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita Thunder forward Jon Booras has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 19, 2014.

Booras was the main contributor in his team's undefeated week scoring three goals and adding two helpers in the Thunder's three games. In Friday's 7-1 win and Sunday's 2-1 win, the Billings, Montana native was named the game's first star. In Friday's win, Booras scored a pair of second period goals and assisted on a first period goal helping Wichita build an insurmountable lead over the Flock. In Sunday's win over Missouri, Booras broke a one-all tie with a second period goal that was the game winner.
The veteran forward leads the Thunder in scoring with 15 goals and 27 assists (42 points). Since the first of December, Booras has scored 10 goals with 13 assists in 17 games and in December, the forward was named the Easton Player of the Month.
