Altoona Curve News Release

ALTOONA, Pa - Since Bob Lozinak and his family reacquired the Altoona Curve on December 1, 2008, the organization has made a myriad of changes over the offseason to make the Blair County Ballpark fan experience more cost effective and family oriented than it ever has been in the team's first decade.

Among the numerous changes has been the lowering of ticket prices, group outings and several food and drink items. In addition, there are many new features that will enhance the overall fan experience.

Many of the changes revolve around the food and brand new daily promotions. The sights and smells at the park will be drastically enhanced on the concourse due in large part to the following:

** Homemade funnel cakes that will be made directly in front of fans eyes.

** New, "mini-melts" ice cream dots that will come in a variety of different flavors

** Cotton Candy that will be made right in front of fans as they watch some of their favorite baseball fare being whipped up in person.

** Beer choices will also be expanded as Marzoni's Brewing Company of Ducansville will have two taps at Blair County Ballpark featuring their signature pale ale and amber lager.

** New beer-battered, foot long Fish Dogs will provide a tasty and unique alternative to typical ballpark fare. Additionally many of the Curve daily promotions will prove to be much more affordable such as the newly implemented Two for Tuesdays, Win it Wednesdays and Thirsty Thursdays:

** Two for Tuesdays - Fans will save big with the ability to get two tickets, two popcorns and two soft drinks for the price of ONE! This great promotion is made possible by Atlantic Broadband.

** Win It Wednesdays - Every Wednesday, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will get a free scratch-and- win ticket that will feature, free food items, complimentary tickets, discounts on Curve merchandise and numerous prizes from sponsors Giant Eagle, and Snyders of Hanover. WTAJ-TV is the media sponsor of Win it Wednesdays.

** Thirsty Thursdays - Throughout the ENTIRE game, fans will enjoy great savings on drinks. 16 ounce Domestic Beers and 20 ounce fountain sodas will be HALF PRICE all game long presented by Rocky 104.9.

The Curve's 11th Eastern League season will begin on Thursday, when Altoona opens their 2009 home schedule against the Erie SeaWolves (AA - Detroit Tigers) at 6:35 p.m. Pittsburgh Steelers and Super Bowl XLIII LaMarr Woodley will throw out the night's first pitch and sign free autographs on the concourse during the game. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will take home a 2009 Curve Schedule Magnet courtesy of Appliance Outlet. The night will be capped off by a new-look post-game fireworks extravaganza. Tickets for Opening Night, 2009 are still available and can be obtained by calling 877-99-CURVE, online at AltoonaCurve.com or in person at the Blair County Ballpark during normal business hours.
