LAST TIME OUT

On February 3, the Westchester Knicks (20-16), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, saw Billy Garrett and Jameel Warney put on career-performances before falling to the Greensboro Swarm (16-16), 98-96, Sunday afternoon at Westchester County Center.

The Knicks were led by Garrett who was one-point shy of tying his career-high ending with 28 points. He made a career-best four triples, season-high eight free-throws, tied a career-high seven rebounds and dished a game-high six assists.

Warney flirted with a triple-double tallying 20 points, a game-high 12 boards and a career-high eight assists. Zak Irvin put up 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Knicks credited a lead as large as 13 points and were up 11 at the conclusion of the first half. A cold front hurt Westchester in the third quarter as the team was only able to hit five of its 16 shot attempts scoring just 20 points in the window. Greensboro on the other hand netted 12 tries from the field including two from distance to go up one before the fourth quarter began.

The Swarm edged Westchester 29-28 in the final window in large part to Dwayne Bacon who added 14 points and Jayleen Barford who chipped in 13. The duo finished the night with 30 and 32 respective points.

Barford grabbed 11 rebounds to round out his double-double while Cat Barber registered a team-high five assists for the Swarm.

Greensboro evened the series with the Knicks, 1-1.

Only eight Westchester Knicks were active with Two-Way players Isaiah Hicks and Kadeem Allen with the New York Knicks, John Jenkins on a 10-Day contract with the Washington Wizards and Stephen Zimmerman nursing left knee soreness.

LAST MEETING

On November 16, 2018, Luke Kornet nabbed a double-double including a career-high rebounds as the Westchester Knicks (4-2), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, defeated the Canton Charge (2-2), 106-95, at the Memorial Civic Center on Wednesday night.

Trailing 56-50 at the half, Canton came out and hit a trio of triples in an 11-4 run to go ahead for a 61-60 lead. After an ensuing Knicks timeout, the visitors responded with a 9-2 run of their own to regain the advantage that they never would relinquish. Westchester led by as many as 15 in the second half thanks in part to holding Canton to 16-of-52 shooting as a team (30.7%).

Westchester was paced by Isaiah Hicks's game-high 27 points with nine rebounds in 37 minutes. Kornet posted a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds with five blocks in 33 minutes. John Jenkins poured in 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 35 minutes.

JaCorey Williams led Canton with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting with five rebounds and three steals in 22 minutes. Levi Randolph netted 17 points on 4-of-4 from three-point range and three steals in 33 minutes. Scoochie Smith had 14 points and four steals in 32 minutes.

THAT WAS CLOSE

Before Capital City (1/6), Westchester was 5-0 in games settled by three points or less. The Knicks' 11-point loss to Austin (12/21) marked just the second time the team lost by 11 or more points. The one-point loss to Capital City (1/6) marked the first setback, 90-89, settled by a margin smaller than three.

The team is now 5-3 in games settled by three points or fewer.

STARTING BAULK

Devon Baulkman has started three games for Westchester. In those three contests, which includes Westchester's last two, Baulkman is averaging 11.7 points per game on 41.9-percent shooting. He is also averaging 5.7 boards in the window. The team is 1-2.

IN LAST TEN

Jameel Warney is the Knicks' leading scorer considering the last 10 games. In the span, Warney is averaging 19.7 points per game on 56.2-percent shooting. He has also earned nine starts in the span. Before Sioux Falls (1/26), Zak Irvin was shooting 62.7-percent from the field from 1/16-1/25 (32-of-51). He is shooting 41.9-percent from the field in his last four.

ZAK ON THE BOARDS

Zak Irvin hauled 15 rebounds against Sioux Falls (1/26) which tabbed a career-high. This included five on the offensive glass. He's grabbed 10 or more rebounds nine times this season.

PAUL ON DEFENSE

Paul Watson's nine rebounds against Memphis (1/25) tied his season-high and his four steals tabbed a new career-best.

WARNEY BUCKETS

Jameel Warney came to Westchester hot almost immediately. Following just a six-point performance against Rio Grande Valley (1/11), Warney went on to average 26.3 points over the next last four games, with 11.5 field goal makes per game on 58.3-percent shooting. He has scored in double-figures in all but one game as a Knick.

STOPPED THE SKID

Westchester's four-game skid which includes Capital City, Rio Grande Valley, Salt Lake City, Texas marked its longest slide this season.

ZAK ZAK

Zak Irvin has recorded three double-doubles in 15 games. He has grabbed double-digits rebounds nine times this season and has scored in double figures on thirteen occasions.

WE HAVE TO CONVERT

Before Delaware (1/19), Westchester got to the line 144 times in five games. However, the team only converted 95 of them (66%) which ranked 25th in the G League (as of 1/15).

THAT WAS THEN

Before Texas (1/16), Westchester was an undefeated 7-0 when it shot 50-percent or better from the field. Against Texas (1/16), the Knicks shot 50.6-percent marking the first loss shooting that well.

Before Texas (1/16), the only other time the team shot 50-percent or better was against the Raptors (1/4) and before that came against Fort Wayne (12/13). Of Westchester's last 19 games, the team has shot 50-percent or better five times.

RAINING THREES BACK-TO-BACK AND BACK-TO-BACK

Westchester's 22 threes from 1/25-1/26 marked the most of its kind since the team net 23 on a back-to-back on 11/23-11/24.

BLOCK OR GET STOPPED

The Knicks averaged 5.0 blocks per game from 1/19-1/23 and have gone 2-1 in the window. This follows a two-game span from 1/14-1/16 when the team raised for just two blocks total, both resulting in losses.

PUTTING ON A CLINIC

Considering Westchester's games against Rio Grande Valley (1/11) and Salt Lake City (1/14) (0-2), the team gave up 120 points from three-point territory. In that span, its two opponents scored a combined 247 points. That accounts for 48.6-percent of their opponents' offense. Salt Lake City's (1/14) 21 three-pointers topped the season-high set by Rio Grande Valley (1/11) the game before (19). The Knicks only generated 45 points from the perimeter.

BT IS BACK

On February 6, 2019, the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of theNew York Knicks, reacquired Buay Tuach from the available player pool as announced by the team Wednesday afternoon.

After being acquired by the Westchester Knicks prior to the start of the 2018-19 season, Tuach, 6'6, 185, averaged 4.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists in two games. He sustained a right foot fracture sidelining him for the next 12 games before being waived by the Knicks on December 6.

Tuach went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft after spending two years at Northeast Community College (2103-15) and Loyola Marymount (2015-17). He spent time with Phoenix Hagen of the German ProA and was selected by the Long Island Nets in the 2017 NBA G League Draft. He was waived by the Nets on November 2, 2017 and was acquired by Westchester four days later.

Tuach will wear number 17 again.

JOHN JENKINS 10-DAY

On January 31, 2019, the Washington Wizards announced that the team signed John Jenkins of the Westchester Knicks (19-14), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, to a 10-day contract.

With Westchester this season, Jenkins, 6'4, 215, started each of the 19 games he appeared in averaging a team-high 24.8 points per game on 47-percent shooting. The guard also drained 62 triples this season on 42.5-percent and was a 92.8-percent free-throw shooter. His line also included averages of 3.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals and a pair of 40-point performances.

In the NBA, Jenkins has averaged 5.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in 145 career games (eight starts) with Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix. He was originally selected with the 23rd overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2012 NBA Draft.

He is the ninth Westchester Knick to earn a call-up and eighth under head coach Mike Miller. He is the second player to earn one this season. At least one player has earned a call-up each season since Westchester's G League inception in 2014.

WELCOME BACK TYRIUS WALKER

The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, acquired Tyrius Walker on January 26.

Walker, 6'1, 185, signed with the New York Knicks after participating in its 2018 Summer League and was waived prior to the start of the NBA G League season.

The Atlanta, GA native appeared in one game for the Maine Red Claws, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Boston Celtics.

IT'S MORE THAN DEFENSE

Austin (12/21) scored 99 points which marked the first time a Knicks opponent scored fewer than 100 points and still pulled out the victory. Previously, Westchester was 8-0 when an opponent failed to clear the 100-point mark. Capital City (1/6) scored just 90 in four periods and one-point overtime to tab the victory over the Knicks.

TWO-WAY DEEM

On January 14, the New York Knicks announced that the team signed guard Kadeem Allen to a Two-Way contract.

Allen, 6'3 200, joined the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, after appearing in two preseason games and being waived by New York on October 13, 2018.

Allen was a late second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Arizona (2015-17) and Hutchinson Community College (2012-14), selected 53rd overall by the Boston Celtics. With the Red Claws, Allen averaged 17.7 points per game, a team-leading 2.2 steals per game and 5.0 assists per game. He was later named to the 2018 NBA G League All-Defensive Team.
