
Magic Win Battle with BayHawks

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeat the Erie BayHawks 109-103, in front of a home crowd at the RP Funding Center.
The Magic used a balanced scoring attack in the first quarter with seven players getting in the points column. The visitors led by as many as eight points in the first but the Magic would take a six point lead into the locker room at the half. The third quarter was much of the same but the Magic were able to extend their lead to 10-points on a three pointer by Gabe York with 3:17 remaining. The BayHawks fought back to get within four points heading into the fourth. It was a back-and-forth affair in the final quarter of play but Lakeland outscored Erie 22-20 for a final score 109-103.
Five players scored in double figures for the Magic with BJ Johnson leading the way scoring 21 points on the night. Troy Caupain had a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Gabe York scored 18 points. Devin Davis posted 10 points and 5 rebounds. Braian Angola scored 10 points.
For the BayHawks, Alex Poythress had a double-double with an impressive 40 points and 12 rebounds. Jaylen Adams had 18 points. Jordan Sibert registered 12 points and 6 rebounds. Jeremy Hollowell came off the bench to score 11 points and 6 rebounds.
The Magic hit the road for another matchup tomorrow night. The game will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena at 7:00PM, as the Magic face off against the Capital City Go-Go. The BayHawks also have a back-to-back in Greensboro, NC and take on the Greensboro Swarm. Both games can be viewed on Facebook Live.
