
Skyforce Acquires Duke Mondy

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they have acquired guard Duke Mondy off of waivers. Mondy will be available for tonight's game against Agua Caliente and will wear No. 0 for the Force. Forward Gerard Tarin was waived in completing the transaction.
Mondy, a 6-4, 205-pound guard out of Oakland went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft. Mondy's most recent NBA G League experience came while appearing in 12 games (11 starts) for the Texas Legends during the 2017-18 season while averaging 7.8 points, 6.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 29.8 minutes per contest. He also appeared in one playoff game for the Legends (one start) at the end of last season, scoring eight points and tallying 12 assists in the loss.
Mondy has played internationally for parts of the last three seasons, beginning the 2018-19 season with the Moncton Magic in the Canadian National Basketball League (NBL). With the Magic this season, Mondy appeared in eight games (six starts) and averaged 15.9 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. Mondy also appeared in 24 games (23 starts) for the Cape Breton Highlanders in the Canadian NBL during the 2017-18 season, averaging 18.5 points, 5.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. Finally, Mondy began his professional career playing for Arantia Larochette in the Luxembourg Total League. He appeared in 18 games (16 starts) for Arantia Larochette and averaged 22.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
Mondy began his collegiate career at Providence, where he played two seasons before transferring to Oakland (Mich.) for his final two years of eligibility. In total, Mondy appeared in 121 NCAA Division I games (54 starts) between Providence and Oakland, averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
