The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, downed the visiting Wisconsin Herd (1-7), 131-75, Friday night at the Westchester County Center. The 56-point margin of the victory set a franchise record while it was also marked the first time a team won by 50-plus points since the Raptors 905 dominated Texas, 136-80.

ON ASSIGNMENT

The New York Knicks announced November 5 that it has assigned center Luke Kornet to the Westchester Knicks.

Through 36 games played with Westchester last season, Kornet averaged 16.1 points per game on 48.9-percent shooting and 6.2 rebounds per game. For New York this season, Kornet has appeared in four contests.

LAST TIME OUT

On November 23, The Westchester Knicks (7-3), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, downed the visiting Wisconsin Herd (1-7), 131-75, Friday night at the Westchester County Center.

The 56-point margin of the victory set a franchise record while it was also marked the first time a team won by 50-plus points since the Raptors 905 dominated Texas, 136-80.

Luke Kornet netted a game-high 25 points on 57.1-percent shooting. The forward also swished five triples on a 71.4-percent shooting clip. New Orleans Flex Assignee Kenrich Williams notched a double-double comprised of 15 points and 13 rebounds, including three on the offensive glass.

Billy Garrett (17), Gyorgy Goloman (14), Trevon Bluiett (13), Paul Watson (12), Kadeem Allen (11) and Stephen Zimmerman (10) also scored in double-figures.

For Wisconsin, James Young had a team-leading 15 points converting five of his 11 looks from the field. Cinmeon Bowers tabbed 11 points. Mareik Isom grabbed a team-best seven boards on the night.

The Knicks' shot 56.5-percent from the field while contained the Herd's shooting performance to just 27.9-percent. Moreover, Westchester drained 46.4-percent of its looks from downtown while Wisconsin connected on just 20.9-percent of its three-pointers.

With only one lead change, the Knicks boasted a 61-point lead evidenced by the 131-70 line at the one-minute mark of the fourth quarter.

WESTCHESTER KNICKS ALUM

Travis Trice II (2015-17) is the second-leading scorer in Westchester Knicks franchise history with 938, second to Thanasis Antetokounmpo's 1,134. Trice is the all-time leader in assists (336). His 344 field goals made also sits second in franchise history.

FINDING THE BOTTOM OF THE NET

All but two Knicks found the bottom of the net yesterday of all who checked into the game. Those 10 players who did al shot 50-percent or better from the field. Moreover, seven players were able to connect at least once from three-point territory.

USA BASKETBALL

John Jenkins has been named to the 12-man roster for the November USA World Cup Qualifying Team as announced by USA Basketball. Jenkins will be one of nine current NBA G League players featured.

The USA will train Nov. 23-25 at the Houston Rockets' practice facility and will continue second-round action of FIBA World Cup Qualifying play with a pair of challenging road games, Nov. 29 versus Argentina (7-1) in La Rioja, Argentina, and Dec. 2 versus Uruguay (5-3) in Montevideo, Uruguay.

HELPIN' HERD

Herd opponents are averaging 26.4 assists per game while the team dishes 20.4 dimes per contest.

BOUND TO REBOUND

Thw Westchester Knicks are averaging 53.3 rebounds in its last four games after reaching to 50-rebound mark for the first time this season November 16 against Erie.

TAKIN' CARE OF THE ROCK

From November 14-18, the Knicks were averaging 23.7 turnovers per game. Since, Westchester is turning the ball over just 14.5 times per game. In that three-game span, opponents were netting 29.3 points off of Westchester's miscues. In its last two, the Knicks are only giving up 11.5 points off of turnovers.

MORE SETS, LESS RUNNING

From November 14-18, covering a three-game span, the Knicks were averaging 14.3 points in the open court. In the span, its opponents 13.7 fastbreak points. In the Knicks last two, they are averaging just 4.0 fastbreak points and giving up 5.5 points in the category.

RUNNIN' IT UP

DOIN' IT BIG

Prior to yesterday's Westchester's largest margin of victory was 27, done twice. The Knicks beat Maine, 105-78 on February 10, 2017 and downed Delaware 117-90 on November 7, 2017.

SHARING IS CARING

In Westchester's last game, the team tallied 34 assists which established a new franchise record. On January 8, 2016, the team dished 33 assists against Reno. Yesterday, 10 of 12 Knicks who saw action notched two dimes or better. Billy Garrett led with six assists on the night. No Wisconsin player had more than four.

Former WNBA player Allison Feaster will lead its professional path initiative and former NBA player Rod Strickland will serve as the professional path's program manager. Select Contracts will pay $125,000 for the five-month season and are part of a full professional path that will include opportunities for off-the-court personal and academic development.

TWO-WAY PLAYERS

Beginning in the 2017 offseason, NBA rosters expanded from 15 to 17 players with the addition of two spots for players under "Two-Way Contracts."

NBA teams may have up to two players under NBA Two-Way Contracts who will spend the bulk of the season in the NBA G League and not more than 45 days with their NBA team. Two-Way players are paid a corresponding daily amount based on the number of days they play in each league. Only players with four or fewer years of NBA service are able to sign Two-Way Contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons.

Allonzo Trier and Isaiah Hicks are both under Two-Way Contracts for Westchester.

LET ME SEE YOU FLEX

The NBA G League's flexible assignment system - which was instituted prior to the 2014-15 season - will continue to enable the independent NBA teams to assign players to the NBA G League for development or rehabilitation from injury. Trevon Bluiett and Kenrich Williams are on flex assignment via the New Orleans Pelicans.
