SIOUX FALLS, SD - The South Bay Lakers (3-6) flipped the script and defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (8-2) by a 112-109 margin on Saturday night at the Sanford Pentagon. The defeat marks the first loss at home for the Skyforce this season, just one night removed from defeating the same Lakers team in lopsided fashion.

Scott Machado (33 points and nine assists) came off the bench to lead a short-handed South Bay roster in scoring, while Los Angeles Lakers two-way player Johnathan Williams found his stride by posting a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double in the victory.

In a game that was tied nine times and saw 17 lead changes, the Lakers ended the game on a 13-2 run to sneak past the Skyforce for their third win of the season. Big time performances from Miami HEAT two-way player Yante Maten (31 points and 19 rebounds) and Briante Weber (23 points, eight steals, six rebounds and four assists) proved not enough in the loss for Sioux Falls. Weber's eight steals on the night match a season-high for the defensive-minded guard, who has now recorded at least three steals in seven straight games.

Los Angeles Lakers two-way player Alex Caruso (six points and four assists) left with an injury in the second quarter and did not return, leaving South Bay with just seven healthy bodies in the second half. Jemerrio Jones (11 points and 18 rebounds) stepped up by posting a career-high in rebounds on the night, while Demarcus Holland (17 points and seven rebounds) helped to round out the offensive attack in the win.

Charles Cooke III (20 points) posted a new season-high off the bench for the Force, while Malik Newman (12 points) and Rodney Purvis (10 points) were the only other Sioux Falls players in double-figures on the night. Purvis had come into tonight's game averaging 24.6 points per game over his last five contests.

The Skyforce will look to get back into the win column at home against the Northern Arizona Suns on Friday, November 30 as the team honors local men and women of service, as well as men and women from local fire and police departments in this year's Heroes Night game.

The Lakers now travel home, and will take on a tough Texas Legends team on Wednesday, November 28 before traveling back east for a three-game road trip against the Memphis Hustle, Windy City Bulls and the Westchester Knicks.
