
West Virginia pulls away for 9-3 win

The West Virginia Power scored four runs in the seventh inning to break up a tie game and cruised to a 9-3 win over Lexington on Thursday night. The loss was the first of the second half for the Legends, dropping their record to 2-1.
Ryan Thompson (2-4) suffered his fourth loss of the year giving up four runs in just 1/3 of inning. Justin Barnes (4-1) got the win with three innings of work allowing just one Lexington run.
J.R. Towles made his impact felt for a second time in three days. Towles weathered two collisions at the plate to record outs. Towles was also hit by a pitch twice. Lexington managed just six hits on the night, two by Luke Barganier.
The Power pounded out 14 hits. Freddy Parejo was 3-3. Josh Brady, Alcides Escobar, Grant Richardson and Hasan Rasheed each had two hits.
The Legends will wrap up the four game series on Friday night. Jimmy Barthmaier will face Mark Rogers at 7:05pm. The Progressive Direct pre-game show will kick off the Legends Network Coverage at 6:50.
The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders will make an appearance at Applebee's Park on Friday night for three performances and a pre-game autograph session.
