Rome, GA - The Rome Braves return to action at State Mutual Stadium Friday night at 7 o'clock against the Columbus Catfish. Columbus, an affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, makes their second trip to Rome this season. In twelve meetings, Rome is 8-4 versus the Catfish.
Friday at 7pm features an appearance by the Mayberry Deputy presented by Blood Assurance and South 107. Saturday night, Foam Fingers will be presented to the first 1000 fans with paid admission courtesy of State Mutual Insurance. Game time is 7pm. Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock concludes the home stand.
Coming Home - Will Startup, a native of Cartersville and left-handed pitcher from the University of Georgia, makes his home debut this weekend. Startup, a 5th round selection by the Atlanta Braves, joined the Rome Braves on June 20th. He was 10-1 as a senior at Cartersville High School with a 1.30 ERA and combined an overall record of 16-10 while at UGA with a 3.19 ERA. As a Bulldog, Startup struck out 166 batters and walked 61.
