MLS Announces Players Available for Selection in Expansion Draft Tuesday

Major League Soccer today announced the list of players available for selection in the 2016 Expansion Draft.

The San Jose Earthquakes protected goalkeeper David Bingham, defenders Victor Bernardez, Andres Imperiale and Kofi Sarkodie, midfielders Fatai Alashe, Cordell Cato, Darwin Ceren, Simon Dawkins, Anibal Godoy and Shea Salinas, and forward Chris Wondolowski. Goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell and midfielder Tommy Thompson are automatically protected due to their Generation adidas and Homegrown Player status, respectively.

The Quakes left the following players unprotected and available for selection tomorrow: goalkeeper Bryan Meredith, defenders Kip Colvey, Clarence Goodson, Shaun Francis, Jordan Stewart and Marvell Wynne, midfielders Leandro Barrera, Marc Pelosi, Alberto Quintero and Matheus Silva, and forwards Quincy Amarikwa, Chad Barrett, Henok Goitom, Innocent, Steven Lenhart and Mark Sherrod.

What: Will cheer runners on at the finish line, and take photos with fans in the photo booth

Dec. 18, 2002 - Re-Signed Landon Donovan

The Earthquakes resigned Landon Donovan to a two-year contract after the forward originally joined the Quakes on a two-year deal from Bayer Leverkusen on March 29, 2001. During his four years with the Quakes, Donovan scored 32 goals and helped the team with MLS Cups in 2001 and 2003.
