LOS ANGELES- The LA Galaxy will embark on a visit to Germany and Austria as part of the 2016 Postseason Tour, presented by Herbalife Nutrition. From Dec. 12-18, LA Galaxy players Gyasi Zardes, Jelle Van Damme, A.J. DeLaGarza, Sebastian Lletget, Brian Rowe, Emmanuel Boateng and Daniel Steres will be visiting several cities across Germany and Austria including D-sseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, Berlin and Vienna alongside Herbalife Nutrition, the LA Galaxy's partner since 2007.
On the tour, the LA Galaxy will visit the home facilities of European soccer clubs, including the German side Schalke 04, and host various sports nutrition-based training sessions led by LA Galaxy trainers and dietitians and Dana Ryan, Ph.D, Herbalife Nutrition senior manager, Sports Performance and Education. Ryan supports Herbalife Nutrition-sponsored athletes around the world by developing nutrition and sports performance programs.
In addition, the LA Galaxy will visit a Herbalife Family Foundation Casa Herbalife program and hold face-to-face meetings with junior international players as well as team members and the manager of Schalke 04, for which Herbalife Nutrition is also the official nutrition partner since August 2016.
"Herbalife Nutrition has been a great partner for the LA Galaxy and we look forward to another postseason tour as we visit Germany and Austria," said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. "Herbalife Nutrition possesses a great network of sponsored clubs and athletes across Europe, as well as a loyal following of dedicated sports enthusiasts. This is a great time for us to arrange a trip to visit Europe and help share some of the nutritional insights we have learned from Herbalife over the course of our longstanding partnership. We believe this tour will further strengthen our close ties with Herbalife Nutrition as we visit these great countries alongside our partners."
Additionally, there will be opportunities for the Galaxy players to connect with amateur sports fans including a visit to the football and athletics association of Westphalia, and a training session with amateur soccer enthusiasts.
"We are thrilled to welcome the players from the LA Galaxy to Germany and Austria. We've worked together with the team for many years. They, like us believe that Herbalife Nutrition is the ideal nutrition partner for those who play sports professionally," said Marco Buschmeier, Herbalife Nutrition country director for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
